So, we all watched our Elder Jake take off on his way across the pond Thursday morning. That morning consisted of many tears and tissues and I wasn't sure if we'd all make it for two years. I think the first day has got to be the worst of the whole mission, at least for the family at home. When we got home from the airport I wasn't entirely sure what to do with myself. We had all been so busy with the end of school and getting him ready, that I think all of us forgot what it was like to do nothing. I basically began wandering the house without a purpose!
Finally, Friday morning, we received a quick email from him saying he arrived safely and connected with many other elders in Salt Lake and Atlanta. We all took a deep, relieved breath and realized that two years could start going by pretty fast. We're just all anticipating P-day when he can tell us more!!!
Enjoy the Blog!
